Nice discussion. Like Mark said, I had some success with Mark Rippetoe's starting strength. Unfortunately I always get stuck at some point due to some back and shoulder issues, but by doing just basic, heavy barbell exercises and chin-ups/pull-ups, and eating a shitload, I can gain a nice amount of muscle in three months. I'm talking 4000-5000 calories a day during my heaviest bulking weeks, and that's definitely not all healthy foods.
FWIW, I'm a naturally skinny guy and I'm not huge by any means (much easier for me to lose fat than to gain it), but I get a lot of compliments from girls about my body. You need just a little bit of muscle to look good naked, if you combine it with low body fat.
Quote:Face it bro, you have been doing this for years and 6 pack is no where near sight for you.
Obsession with 6 packs is silly. It's just about body fat.
This guy doesn't have a six pack, but I'd say his training program is probably pretty decent...
