RE: I don't get America's obsession with Athletes & celebrities
Uh no, I have been to China several times and I have seen first hand what the country is like and what the people are like. The rest of Asia, sort of looks down on them (as much as they do on India). The Koreans and Japanese definitely don't like them and see them as below them; when I was in Singapore I saw several instances where elderly and ordinary Chinese being given the same treatment migrant Mexican, South Asian, and Fillipino workers get in other countries. Yes, most of the Chinese are quite not good-looking, they had horrible teeth, looked androgynous and there were women without any long hair, (living in Beijing I saw this several times). Now of course there are the good and bad, but my experiences indicate to me that when you put a good-looking Chinese guy alongside good-looking guys of other races, they don't really stand out that much and usually end up mid-to lower tier alpha scale. If the Chinese were so attractive, why are they rated the least attractive race in surveys? Why isn't Chinese and Asian cinema in general more popular in Africa, the Middle East, certain parts of Asia and South America as compared to Bollywood? Why aren't there Eastern European, Middle Eastern or South American actresses trying to enter Chinese or Asian cinema in flocks? In a sense Roosh is right in that they don't really have an aesthetic appeal. The entire style and fashion in China is based off of K-pop, Jpop, and Taiwanese crap which is based off western creations. It resembles Billy Joel meeting Usher; except this Usher has excessive plastic surgery, has a egoic white-washed fake romantic mantra, pretends to be cool by imitating a dance/culture created and mastered by an ethnicity he looks down upon (whom also happen to be higher on the overall global sexual ladder then him) with the Billy Joel part composing 10 year old love lyrics.
There is also this notion in China that non-white/light Chinese means inferior. I've seen South East Asians, Mediterranean, Latino's, Blacks get mistreated (myself included) by that culture for no other reason other then skin color (nothing new of course but I just have to let that out), on a ridiculous level. Not something that should happen for a country that preaches global security, and throws out fancy terms like "International community". Big problem there
I don't have a racial inferiority thing, but my experiences with the Chinese have been terrible; several times I got cheated and lied to blatantly in deals. I lost a computer and bunch of speakers a while back due to carelessness and apathy from Chinese moving companies. I've been tricked into buying things from Chinese stores with boxes containing nothing. I have had cases where I was handed counterfeit cash without my knowledge. I had experiences where I would walk in the streets of Beijing, and there would be an entire line of people staring at me, (having Brown skin/Mediterranean features). I'm sure worse experiences happen for foreigners that aren't reported, but stuff like this shouldn't be happening in a country of high prestige.
I also have stories of dealing with pretentious ABC's who thought they were the center of the universe due to a rise of a country they didn't even help or live in but that's another story for another day. There is this annoying and irritating nationalistic hubris, arrogance, smugness and self-satisfaction that a lot of Chinese people emit, including the overseas ones, which is completely baseless and rooted in ignorance. No matter how much Chinese people like to think they are better then, India or any country in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, you guys really haven't done much for any country outside except establish yourself as self-serving middle men or upper classmen, (case with Africa and other countries). Here in America, I don't see any of the rich Chinese set-up charity funds, communicate and exchange ideas to better the community, reconcile differences, help others in small and large ways. If they do, which is rare, its usually calculated with no real empathy and kindness. I could say the same thing for Indians. I don't see any effort by the Chinese to contribute to mainstream America and culture, if they do it usually falls along a self-serving paradigm. You guys really haven't innovated or created entire revolutionary ideas/things. China routinely steals technology from the U.S and her allies, steals culture (Jazz, Hip-hop), copies things, without giving any credit and are building a ground army/pacific fleet for antagonistic purposes. Their actions of recent have been extremely aggressive in Taiwan & the pacific ocean. While the U.S might be bad, the Chinese human rights records are atrocious, and they intentionally misinforms their citizens. Its a xenophobic, self-serving, oligarchic dictatorship, with a bad environmental record. Its also kind of annoying how the Chinese like to credit for things that aren't theirs (martial arts, meditation, yoga, buddhist culture all rooted in other countries), and use it as a base for their arrogance/smugness and cultural superiority jingoistic complex.
That's not the complete start of why China won't be number one, there are whole entire issues; China being surrounded by warring neighbors that don't like it, Han Chinese self-interest coinciding with other countries. Politics, history, short-sightedness, etc, there are four more players in the future but most of them would rather align themselves with the U.S then China. Now don't get me started on how much India/South Asia sucks as well, but again that's for another day. Sorry if this sounded harsh or hostile. I didn't get how this is related to the Indian troll.
