RE: Captain Jack's blog
Imo, while I heard captain jack might be the "best pua" in the community, his blog is a joke.

For the past 2 years, almost everyone of his blog post:

so yeah, you suck because you lack so and so, ok, here buy my product:
------

I read that shit and i thought, i gain absolutely zero value from it other than the fact he tries to impose the frame I suck in it. I'm sorry captain, but most pua already studied enough nlp not to fall for that shit.

Plus, i think the rumor of him good is probably greatly exaggerated...where's the infield video.

RE: Captain Jack's blog
his blog isn't that good and I'm pretty skeptical of him too, but he had a few good Lay Reports in his blog. And I was just curious why his blog has pretty much vanished because sometimes I wonder if Captain Jack even exists? He has no bootcamps, no live classes, no infield videos, no teaching videos (at least Brad P has use to have teaching videos on vimeo), and his products are just recordings. Has anyone ever seen Captain Jack? - Obviously that doesn't help you when it comes to girls, but this "Captain Jack" could possibly be pulling off a tremendous scheme. Or I'm just completely wrong and CJ has decided to take a break or retire from pua, I can hear Sinn saying, how dare you question the great captain jack lol.

RE: Captain Jack's blog
He exists. I've taken a course with him although I didn't see any value in it at that time. It was a lot of "mumbo-jumbo". It is only recently that I understood what he was truly saying. What he was teaching went well beyond pickup. It was a method and philosophy to get good at anything. I've also met people who have seen and trained with him personally. They all raved about him. Anyway, IMO, it really doesn't matter if he is good or not. That is just community BS. PU is not a spectator sport. Atleast I hope not.

RE: Captain Jack's blog
I had his blog's feed on my reader. One day I clicked through and noticed a blog post with 20 something comments, while most others had 1, 3 or 4 if any... This was a post where he pitched a product and all the comments had been produced within 24 hrs, with strange names. Some guys asked about it and with the help of some of CJ and other commenters they were sold on the product. It could happen, I guess...Angel

On some other thread someone asked what he had read that made it for him. CJ suggested dianetics and mentioned trying some other (mainstream) product that didn't work for him. Googling and seeing it associated with the church of sci nt logy was enough for me, but if you are interested here's the wiki.

He had a very interesting post on competence/ confidence, I had even saved it on my notes. Here it goes:

    The Validation Method of Competence

You may have noticed that the competence and confidence level of our world is very low. Not only is the level of workable knowledge very low, the ability to apply the little workable knowledge we DO have is very low as well.

One of the reasons is the WAY skills are taught. If you look at standard education across the world it is based on INVALIDATION. You get things marked wrong on your test. The very idea behind a test is the assumption that you don’t know the material and are so irresponsible that you must have the outside pressure before you’ll even bother learning anything (this has some truth BECAUSE of the way education has been set up from the beginning).

This invalidation method of education breeds lack of confidence. It is not even geared towards application, practice, drilling so the competence level remains low.

    I’d like to reverse it.

Validation and practice is the key to both confidence and competence.

If the current systems of learning wanted to teach you to draw a perfect circle here’s how they’d do it. They’d probably have you read the steps to drawing a circle. Then, they’d have you draw some circles. They’d get out a red pen and mark a big X through all the sections of the circle that were lopsided. You would get the paper back with a % grade and if it was above 70% you’d be considered a competent circle drawer.

The Validation Method of Competence would be quite different. In fact, almost the reverse.

First, you’d get the definition of a circle with examples so you’d KNOW what a circle is without a doubt. (A circle is a simple example so this would be more meaningful for more complex information/tasks).

Second, you’d receive step-by-step instructions on how to draw a circle. You’d read those and we’d make sure you KNOW and understand completely the instructions.

Third, the instructor would say, “Now, draw a circle.” You’d give it a shot by drawing a circle.

Fourth, the instructor would say, “What is right about it?” and then “Good! How close did you get?” (This is so YOU get confidence in your own estimation instead of relying too much on Authority.)

Fifth, you’d look at the circle, examine it against the reference examples and decide how close you got.

Sixth, the instructor would say, “Excellent. Now, draw a circle.”

You’d repeat steps 3 through 6 until you could draw a circle with ease and KNOW confidently that you could do so.

This method is much faster, much more sure, and doesn’t consistently undermine a person’s confidence by pointing out all of the places where they are wrong.

You’ve been invalidated all of your life by a system that did not understand this. Your confidence AND competence level is NOWHERE NEAR where it should be.

Let’s reverse this right here, right now!

Grab a pen and paper (best) or open up a word processor. Pick 4 areas of your life…

    Example:

    Finances

    Health (add muscle, eat healthier)

Philanthropy (more time and money to literacy and drug rehabilitation programs)

    Businesses

Now, order them so that the most important or most troublesome occurs LAST.

    Health (add muscle, eat healthier)

    Finances

Philanthropy (more time and money to literacy and drug rehabilitation programs)

    Businesses

Starting with the first one imagine the Ideal you want to achieve. Get it clear. Then, begin listing all the ways you are RIGHT or CORRECT or have done well.

Ask yourself, “How have I been right about X?”

List as many things as you can. When you have trouble thinking of
another thing ask yourself again. Do this a few times until you aren’t
able to come up with anything else. Then, go onto the next area of
    life or skill.

    Health (add muscle, eat healthier)

    - Started eating fruit in the morning

    - Added hindu push-ups and hindu squats to daily routine

    - Read a ton of books on the subject and found good, workable ideas to apply

    - Had a banana this morning

    Finances

    - Kept bills low despite temptation

    - Meeting all obligations on time

    - Put together a plan for incoming money that is sound and very doable and connected to reality and my own idiosyncracies

    Etc.

How and why does this work?

Remember the Magnification Principle? By LOOKING at what you’ve done right it magnifies the right actions and associated attitudes and makes them even more accessible for the future. Further, the practice of looking and evaluating instead of depending on outside Authority allows YOU to see where you are wrong. It is VERY different to see it for yourself than to have a past invalidation active and criticizing you in your head under the guise of your voice.

This yields mental and behavioral flexibility because we are so used to accepting invalidation or battling it that we get caught up in defending our rightness instead of really seeing what is there.

After you’ve built up some of this with the earlier subjects you should have a pretty fascinating realization on the last one, the area of your biggest problems or most important life aspect. That is why we saved it for last.

A problem CANNOT persist if you truly look at it.

This drill will help you dissolve problems simply by looking.
