Litmus test article
Thought the litmus test article was very interesting. So here's my thought.

I agree that it's actually easy to imagine a world where somebody such as Mark puts out advice that is effective, and actually appealing enough to women that they would even recommend it to their nice guy friends. I think Robert Glover, for instance, gets very good reactions, and certainly women would not, in the abstract, be opposed to dating advice for men. However, it does seem like certain areas are going to kind of piss women off. For instance, there's just no way a "same night lay" article will be all that popular with women.

This just assumes that women don't want to simply get laid sometimes like guys do, which in my experience is not true.

No, I assume that women do want to simply get laid like guys do. In fact if you will look at my previous posts you will note that I have a lot of evidence to back this up. I also assume that women do not like guys taking a class to learn how to make it happen.

There are a few reasons for this. One that pops to mind is that most women have a hard time finding quality guys, not finding guys in general. So while they are sympathetic and appreciative of guys trying to improve themselves to find a great girl, they aren't all that impressed by guys putting a ton of effort into getting laid fast.

It's an interesting thought to play with... I think the comments on the post are getting a bit off track with assumptions that this "perfect pick up site" already exists, when in fact, I'd say that the current industry still has a loooooong way to go.

I guess I'm just playing with the idea that if or when we get there, won't we know because women will be flocking to it?

Maybe if the site was not anonymous. I think women have no interest in what men can do to improve themselves. How many of us read about how women can improve themselves? We don't care and I think they won't either. All they care about is the finished product. That being said, they might push men towards it. On the other hand, if the site was not anonymous, perhaps that site will became a dating hotbed with women clamoring for invites. Hmm.. interesting thought.

I think the female analog would actually be something like a mail order bride or escort site, not a self-improvement site.

Again, I'm throwing out there the assumption that a site produced extremely attractive men on a regular basis -- not just physically, but charming, fun, exciting, good in bed, empathetic and understanding, etc.

Maybe if they actually took the time and read some article and MAYBE some female.

One time, I accidently let a girl glance at my smart phone and she saw the site "practical pickup" and she was like WTF IS THAT??

lol, sorry mark, the word pickup still have tons of very negative connotation.

I know. I'm going to do a blog post next month about upcoming changes to the site and business. But a name change will be part of it, probably by the end of the year.

I think the name is a great brand name for disgruntled PUA guys looking to decompress or simplify things for themselves, which has been the bulk of my audience and customers in the past.

But I'm starting to broach a wider and more mainstream audience and I think the word "pick up" is quickly becoming limiting.
