So, all in all a good night, that a year ago I would have called a huge success, but that I do find a bit frustrating. Comments welcome

I started drinking at about 3, met some friends from college for lunch, had wine, continued on with a friend from law school, a guy named John. John and I meet up with his friend ken, who lives in Georgia and is married. John wants to show Ken a good time, so we decide, since it's a sunday, to go to a very exclusive club called le bain and try to get in. They say it's guest list only, but it's a rooftop bar of a hotel and it is onlhy 11 pm so we head into the hotel's main entrance, and go for the elevator bank. a hotel guest sees us trying to press the button for the penthouse, which isn't working. His key card, however, gets us one floor away. We walk up the stairs, and end up in an empty restaurant. When we are asked by the bar staff what we are doing there we say "we came from the hotel, we're trying to go to le bain" and get directed there. We walk in, rooftop bar, with a hot tub with topless chicks in the hot tub with a disco ball dangling above them. There is another area with a bunch of little water bed type couches. I see a cute girl and chat with her. She's a dutch recent MD grad, who is doing a 1 month internship and lives literally on my block. We chat for 10, she sees my friends lingering and asks me if I need to rejoin them. I say "yeah I should but give me your number." she does and says I need to take her to a cafe I had mentioned.

We hang out at the bar for an hour and the guy not from the city wants to try a new place. We take a cab from meatpacking to the lower east side and try beauty and essex. It's almost dead. We walk from there to another bar, and bump into two girls on the street. They are asking us how to get to Dark Room, a bar I have been to before that won't let guys in without girls. I say "we were headed to Home Sweet Home" and they say they just came from there, and that we should go to dark room with them. We go along. One of the girls is really cute, the other is a bit too chubby for my taste. The chubby one occupies me for a while. I decide to go along, and we go to Dark Room. We get in and their other friend, who is pretty cute, joins them. Since they got us in, I buy the first round. The cute one starts talking to me and I begin to escalate physically as we chat. Her friends go for a cigarette and my friends go home. We start dancing, and she immediately grinds on me. We do this for a while and then go back to the bar, and start making out (so much for my rule). Her friends find us. We order a round of drinks. We are hanging out and sitting, and the girl I like grabs me and says "I really wanna kiss you right now" and we make out. She acts pretty drunk and her friend pulls me aside and says "look, you seem nice. She's too drunk to go home with you, but get her number" I do, then go home.

Wait, so this guy wanted to leave Le Bain to go to... Beauty Bar?

That IS hilarious.

That still sounds like a pretty decent night to me. Hanging out with hot girls, couple of make-outs and some good clubbin. Right on mate.

beauty and essex. New place. Better than beauty bar, but still, a big mistake.
