I've started noticing that girls I meet online are much more crazier then girls I meet in person. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this but girls I've met online seem to be a little more loony. Is there a reason for this? Anyone else notice this trend? I'm talking free online dating websites not the ones you pay for... That could be different.

A higher proportion of girls you meet online are weird. I hink this is true for a couple of reasons.

1) When in-person approaching you notice early signs of weirdness and either don't approach the crazy girls or else eject.

2) People usually turn to online dating because meeting people in person hasn't worked. One reason (by no means not the only reason) people have trouble in their dating life is because they are weird.

What do you guys mean by crazy or weird?

What I mean by crazy is they have different quirks and habits that I don't find very often with girls I've hung out with who I first met in person. It's almost like there's a reason they are online dating. As Jon stated people turn to online dating because real life dating hasn't worked. The reason I have dabbled with online dating is it takes little to no effort and it's another way to meet women. I've found chicks I meet online (I've met about 8 in the past year) seem to be more open to intimacy quicker but at the same time seem to have a few odd things about them. For example the last chick i dated was all over the place emotionally. Most people especially women have some odd quirks but it just seems to be a recurring pattern with girls i meet online.

Just to be clear in no way shape or form am I saying that ALL girls who are participating in free online dating are crazy/weird... This has just been my experience recently. The next one could be different. Although after this last experience I am taking a break.

Online dating isn't really a great way to meet quality women. You might find a diamond in the rough, but it's so much easier to just approach girls you find attractive when you're out during the day. I think a lot of guys will use online dating as a crutch because they are too scared to actually approach. To each his own, but I view online stuff as a supplement to the real thing at best.

Exactly. That's the key to the whole thing right there.

I've only met 2 girls in person that I met on a dating site. One of them was completely normal and the other one is a COMPLETE nutball with a whole tonne of mental/emotional issues.

One of my friends is currently monogamous with at best an average looking girl he met on POF. This girl used to be a cutter and depressed due to severe chemical imbalances in the brain. Currently she is taking anti depressants. I told him to not get involved with her, but he did anyways. Now I'm just waiting for the inevitable shitstorm to come.
