To rent or not to rent
Hi all.
I have a big decision to make and have been thinking about it for 2 month or so and haven't figured it out yet.
I am studying at a university. The town itself is not that big (to American standards), about 1.5 miles (2.5km) in diameter. My campus is like half a mile out of town. Till now, my parents paid for the rent of a dorm room cause we lived in another town. The dormitory is almost on campus, very close to the lessons, but out of town, like the campus.
But about three months ago, we moved from the city we lived in to the city where I'm studying. Now we have a house at the opposite side of the city (in the suburbs too). From there, it's about 1.5 miles to town center (where the chicks are) and 3.25 miles to the campus.
The question is: do I keep living where I was living or move back in with my parents? If I keep renting, I'll have to pay half the rent on my own, so I'll have to work on saturdays and even then, I'll be financially challenged. If I move in with my parents, there will be less privacy like in freedom. And it's pretty far to the classes (which start almost every day at 8.30 AM).
I've been thinking about it a long time. Sometimes my preference swings to home, sometimes to the dorm. Could you give me some tips/opinions/whatever will help to find an answer?

RE: To rent or not to rent
I'm not that good to bring a lot of girls over. And I couldn't do it during night game with that dorm room either. Between town (where the chicks are) and campus (where I live(d)) is a park which might be frightening at night and make them go "Psycho!". XD During day, it's a very beautiful place, with a pittoresque renaissance castle and department buildings, a river, big castle park with a grass field just made for picknicks and barbeques, the cafeteria, a few restaurants, my residence and everything. It would be perfect for day game and dates.
And on campus, I know a lot of people. It's a residence, many of my friends are my neighbours or live in residences nearby and you have much more unexpected social contact with other students without even going out. It's my "hood". 8D. If I move back in with my parents, I may become this asocial cunt who doesn't even bother to show up at lectures... That's what I'm afraid of.
I don't mind working in the weekend for a few months. And about my financial strain, it's not like I'll have to cut down on everything and eat just rice whole week, but the budget will definitely be more limited.
