RE: Quality control in dating advice
I've worked with a number of 18-20 year olds... usually day game. Results have been a mixed bag. Some guys still have a lot of developing to do on their own. I really think most guys don't psychologically/emotionally mature completely until early or mid 20's.

On the other hand, if they have a really specific goal, like approaching during the day, then it can often go well. Young guys tend to change and learn very quickly.

It was like 1/3 girls that were into me would actually end up leaving with me. For whatever reason at the time, I thought this was a horrible ratio and that I sucked. I never even stopped to consider that maybe part of the reason was that I lived on my friend's couch. But anyway, I got bummed out one night and sent BradP an email about a one on one. He was the hot shit new coach, and one of the only guys I had always respected because I read all of his LR's on FastSeduction before he started coaching.

I sent him a really detailed page-long email going in depth about all of my "problems." He sent a really vague reply back to me full of typos asking for $2000 per night. Obviously, that was way too much. But something about that immediately killed all respect I had for him. In hindsight, there was very little to fix other than to get my life together. But I'm sure he would have brought me out and had me do all sorts of wacky shit, telling me that's what my problem was...
Are you sure it was Brad P? Brad P says he was never involved in the PUA community, at least when he was learning, and that he found out about it AFTER he started coaching guys. Also, I had a bootcamp late 2008 from Brad and one of his coaches and it cost $1500 for three days (with 4-6 guys though, but still).

$2000 per night? Holy shit! What kind of advice can you give to somebody for $2000 per night? What a rip off! I would lose respect for somebody like that too. They just want to take advantage of somebody's desperation. You are totally different Mark, thank God.

No more Mr. nice guy.

So I realized in bed that he would still make about the same per day if you add up the $1500's. Tongue But I still wonder about the first point. Also, Brad stresses the importance of lifestyle and fundamentals, which is one thing I liked about him.

1. BradP was posting his LR's every week on FastSeduction in 2005. He was definitely part of the community. Wink

2. I asked for a one on one, not a bootcamp.

As a european guy, i really hate most american advertisements. For us Europeans, it looks really "cheap" ("blabla....offer a 3day trial....blabla...get a free shot....a free .pdf of my new book included for free*....blabla). I think it goes back to different ways to incorporate Capitalism into society and stuff.

So if you want to learn how to separate Quality from Crap:

Read/watch European advertisements and how they are made.

*Free teasers etc. (like Marks Blog) are fine. But "buy this and you get that FREE" is not working

Ah. Thanks for the response. That's good to know. Heaven knows I'm still developing. I'm at that point in any 18 year old's life where he arrives at three epiphanies a week.

It is odd that most pick-up ads are still "hard sell" rather than "soft sell" whereas mainstream advertising has been using soft-sell ads for 50 years.

I guess this is because the tendency is to use direct-response ads - see the ad and then immediately purchase the product. Although, if it is true, as Mark said, that the advertising is event driven, I would think you would want to separate soft-sell ads so that people remember you from a product page without too much copy.
