So my girlfriend has been acting like a real bitch lately. She even proposed we do an open relationship, but not until she leaves the country for a month in July. She said that we could be in an open relationship, as long as we don't have sex with people.

I think thats bullshit, so I ended up asking out another girl and have a date with her this week. This new girl is just a waitress that I asked out, so we don't have any mutual friends that could connect her to my girlfriend.

However, I've never done this before, and was wondering if there is anything I should watch out for.

It sounds like you should just break it off with your current girlfriend and focus on other options

An open relationship without having sex with other people. That's not an open relationship.

But seriously I would focus on other options. I mean who makes such a proposal.

Ask yourself how you can make the best out of your current relationship and if you REALLY want to stay with your current girlfriend. Doesnt sound like it was in the best state at the moment.

In general there is no difference when you date 2 girls (if you have no girlfriend). Just don´t mention the other girl (specially don´t brag), except she asks you whether you´re seeing somebody else or not.

But like the other members pointed out, it seems like staying in your relationsship is not a good choice.

I would say what you are doing is not dating 2 girls simultaneously, you are cheating. You have a girlfriend and are in a committed relationship with her despite the fact that she is being bitchy and despite that she mentioned an open relationship- starting in JULY. You are going out on a date with another girl, you are cheating. point blank. It is not fair for your girlfriend or this other girl. It also sounds like you are going on this date out of spite- not cool and not nice to do to the waitress. If you were really committed to your gf and were happy with the relationship, I would hope you would not want to go out on a date with another girl. Sounds to me like your girlfriend doesn't want to be in a relationship with you either...a girl would never propose an open relationship with a guy she loves and really cares for. Her suggesting an open relationship while she is out of the country sounds like a good excuse to be a slut for a month and then come home to her bf. Even if there are no ties between your gf and this waitress you are taking out, one or both of them will find out about the other. Girls find out everything, we are all goldmetal stalkers. I say figure out what it is that you want. If you want to be with your current gf, cancel the date and tell her that open relationship is a no-go. If you no longer feel like you want a relationship with this person, break up and date other girls. Date 2, date 100, but don't date other girls when you have a girlfriend.

Open relationship but not outside sex? Cute. So she can check, if there are any better guys around, while you are supposed to wait and see, if you are actually the best. Nothing in it for you, everything for her.

Go for the waitress. If you GF wants an open relationship for her only, then it's absolutely not fair for you. But it might be a good idea to talk with her first.
