Don't think it's the lawsuits as much as the 100-hour work weeks that I wouldn't want.

Oh I'll have those anyway Tongue
At least maybe for a short period. There is a growing shortage of MDs in Germany coming, so working conditions will change a lot over the next years over here.

Asking questions vs making statements.

This fucked me up for such a long time, what a fucking pain in the ass.

To clarify, NO! asking questions does not lower value, or make you look beta or any of that shit. Simply by making statements more often does not raise attraction.

Obviously don't fire questions one after the other, thats just odd, but if you are ending up doing that its more so that you are talking to a bad conversationalist rather than being a bad conversationalist.

Actually, in general making more statement is better than asking more questions. It's a good way to train yourself to become a better conversationalist.

While making statement doesnt necessary "raise attraction", you dont get pigeon hole into a "boring guy" catagory if you're a typical newb who ask too many boring ass questions.

Asking really interesting questions is great, but without knowing the girl too well, how can you ask her interesting questions? That's why it's always better off to make statement first. Once you're good at making great statement, you'll naturally ask great questions.

Yeah I seriously agree with Brian. Talking in statements (especially I statements) makes people feel comfortable and encourages them to open up. It's really important early in an interaction if you want somebody to relax and get comfortable with you.

Disagree with the both of you.

Obviously shooting one question after another is weird. But if you just start talking about yourself without asking anything of the other person you come off as a douchebag.

Think about that really annoying person at school or at work or whereever that people always seem to complain about. If you notice what people get annoyed about, its the fact that the annoying person just constantly talk about themselves and disregards others. Making too many statements makes you look self absorbed and impersonal.

There has to be a balance.

By the way, I when I first meet people I always ask them a lot about themselves, and I always end up making a good impression.

I agree with the balance sentiment, but I think you guys are both kind of onto it... do "You" statements.

"You seem like you really love spending time with your friends."
"You don't seem like the typical law student."
"You don't look like you're from Texas."
"You sound like you really love to travel."

It is true that sharing your own personal stories can elicit others to open up, but I think that's a different concept than the "Question vs Statement" thing.
