Woman in reserved countries
Hey guys,
I just moved to a country (Korea) that, compared to most places, is pretty reserved and prudish when it comes to sex. It's also a country where its difficult meeting (local) people in general. A lot of dating here tends to happen through social circles, and people tend to form tight groups that are kind of tough to get in on. Anyone have any experience doing cold approach in countries like these? Is going direct out of the question (I think the woman here aren't really used to guys being that forward)? Would opinion openers, weak as they may be in North America, actually be appropriate here?

RE: Woman in reserved countries
opinion openers are just retarded and ultra-needy (just try to imagine James Bond asking a random girl "who lies more? man or women?")

i've been traveling around asia for more than a year and have to say that asian girls are really easy when you are white. dunno so much about koreans. a lot of the ones i might were a bit shy, but i also had 2 japanese girls who looked a bit shy at first glance and then turned out to be crayz sexaholics.

its true that its better to get to know them over your social circle (same as in europe) because its more natural, but cold approaching works too and you can just get to know cool people over sports clubs or your school or work and then go out with them.

Koreans have a reputation for being more prude. Cold approach in social circle-oriented countries can often be a brutal experience. But I've only done it in Latin America where every guy goes direct, so direct may work wonders over there.

As usual, the answer is to try it out and find out yourself.

Do you know Korean? If not it's best to learn the language to date hotter locals.

This blog is about Japan but I think you can apply some things similarly too.

Haha, I really hate opinion openers. My thought was they might be less intense in such a prudish culture, but I suppose Mark has a point that if every single guy they've encountered is to reserved to do them, going direct may be refreshing. I'll give them a go a see how they work. I know a little bit of Korean. I'm gradually chipping away at it, and i'd like to be semi decent at it when I leave in 11 months. Speaking of travelling around Asia, I have some time off in August, so i'll be doing some travelling. For you guys who have been, what were your favourite countries (not just for woman, but in general)?

Thailand. Cambodia's worth a few days for Angkor Wat and the Killing Fields.

Bali's totally overrated. Don't go unless you surf.

Interesting, Bali was on my short list. Is it just really boring? Do the beaches suck?

Nah, the beaches are great and it's not boring. The locals suck. The food sucks. And it's full of a bunch of drunk 18-20 year old Aussies. I mean, it's fun for a few days I suppose. And it's pretty easy to get laid. But definitely way overrated IMO. Other than surfing, there's nothing Bali does that Thailand doesn't do better and cheaper.

What? Are you talking about the fields where a lot of people were killed? What did you see there? I watched the movie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Killing_Fields_(film)
It was shocking!

No more Mr. nice guy.

Yeah... pretty fucked up and somber place. Basically the Cambodian version of the Holocaust.
