Yeah it's a bitch looking for apts in this neighborhood. My roommate and I saw 70 between us. I don't know anybody looking for a roommate atm but if you want some suggestions about where to look shoot me a private message.

I'm hoping to end up in Manhattan once I settle back in the States... but the stories I hear of apartment-hunting are pretty intimidating.

I live in the suburbs in NJ but I'm always hanging out in Manhattan on the weekends.

Yeah it can be a bitch. We were being super picky, which is why we looked at so many apartments. Obv. at this point I have a better sense of how to go about things, and would have some suggestions if you do end up looking here. Also, there are brooklyn neighborhoods that are great options if you don't have to commute every day.

Eh, I've stayed with friends in Brooklyn and would definitely prefer the East Village or Meatpacking. If/when the time comes I may shoot you a PM for tips.
