I posted this link on G3 too http://www.gq.com/how-to/fashion/200802/...-slideshow

I like how you can see how a little change can matter a lot (especially when it comes to fit)

Disagree completely. I think dark colors look way better.

+1
It doesn't completely depend on your skin color. I think people with completely black hair but pale skin won't look good with many light colors. But if youre blond, more light colors will probably fit you.
I have pale skin and really black hair. And I always dress with many black and (dark) grey and just one or max two or even none real colors. And if I take some colors, they are rarely light or really intense.

And yeah, I think formal style rules.

Honestly, I find that 90% of the time, jeans and a dress shirt with a wifebeater underneath is foolproof. There's no need to get so over-analytical about it.

Sorry, but those look just awful. Absolutely awful.
Either get a sneaker (chucks, keds, vans) or a proper dress shoe.
Something like Pantofola d'oro are ok/decent as well if you must have some kind of leather sneaker. http://files.edelight.de/img/posts/228x2...-peter.jpg

How old are you? I bet you'll be able to improve your style massively. German by any chance?

No need to be sorry... thanks for the feedback! I'm 20. No.

And I don't like sneakers. I'd rather go with dress shoes.

so I'm gonna buy something like these next http://www.aldoshoes.com/uk/men/shoes/sm...bussard/97

RE: Fashion advice thread
Rather get some high quality leather shoes. those will (with some care) survive 8+ years and besides feeling & looking better, they'll be cheaper in the end.

Loake 1880 line are good "intro" dress shoes:
http://www.loake.co.uk/Shop/Products/Loa...alog).aspx
So are herringshoes.co.uk

Brown shoes are actually easier to combine than black ones and look better in your casual wardrobe. Everybody should have black oxford cap-toes for festive occasions though.

Also read "Alan flusser - dressing the man" (especially for color coordination advice > also this: http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/Cloth...ality.htm)

Some good forums:
http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/index.php
http://www.styleforum.net/
(beaware though, most users still haven't mastered good fit + color combinations > especially in the WAYWT threads you find some hilarious pictures. It's a good info source for finding good labels/shops etc.)

As a intro to fashion guide:
Just build you wardrobe with some classic pieces (raw jeans, chinos, dress shirts, basic shoes)
Look for perfect fit (examples: http://www.gq.com/how-to/fashion/200802/...-slideshow ) (get it tailored if it fits around hip/shoulder) & good color combination.
Once you have the basics in place you can deepen the style that fits you (preppy, punk, goth etc.).

I think we need an intro post with lots of great pictures & recommendations on here.

Happy lol I posted that slideshow link above Big Grin

DD those are awesome bro!

The thing is that I have to wear custom shoe insoles (is that the right word haha) and they fit much better in casual shoes (like those you said are awful) then in dress shoes.

So I have to have some casual shoes too. So you gotta tell me what to look for in casual shoes, and what makes those above bad?
