Is brightness of this level a necessary turn-on? Would this guy be considered highly attractive or have the capability to be considered a female magnet of sorts?

off course this guy could get laid.... lol

He's definetly confident in his profession, and he speaks about with passion.

But that doesn't mean that he's socially confident.

If you define alpha as doing what you love to do then he's probably alpha.

but that term is so vague.... My advice? Do what you want to do, and stop caring about "alphaness". There is no 1 type of guy that is universally attractive.

You are posting five different questions at once. So here is my opinion:

1. Could this guy get laid?

I would say yes, but, unfortunately only with very unattractive women. In order to get cute girls, he would have to change A LOT. This would probably require much time and effort.

2. Is this guy alpha?

He is the very opposite of alpha.

3. Is brightness on this level a necessary turn-on?

No. It's a turn-off. Very, very, very few girls could relate to him. And those few girls who could, are probably not attractive themselves.

4. Would this guy be considered highly attractive?

Rather the opposite.

5. A female magnet?

No way.

But there's hope for him. If he joins a gym, changes his haircut, works on his masculinity (body language etc.), and on his social skills, he could probably get to the point where he could attract a few HB 6-7 girls. But this would cost him A LOT of time and effort to invest. So at the end, it would probably come down to his willpower.

However, I hope for him that he does NOT find the Pick Up Community. Guys like him run the risk of becoming RSD fanboys or Keyboard Jockeys.

How old is this guy actually? 17-18? Seriously how did you look when you were his age? There is no way that YOU can predict his ability with women in the future.

A lot of work you say? joining a gym, a new haircut, some new clothes. That's peanuts if you ask me.

This guy is pretty smart, so let's say that when he's 25 he's a famous business tycoon or owns his own business. Will this mean that he will only be able to get a 6 or a 7?

the guy seems pretty put together and confident for 18. Is he getting laid a lot in rural Wisconsin? Definitely not. Could he get laid a lot at cambridge, Massachusetts? Depends on his personality/social confidence. If he takes initiative and has good social skills, then in the right setting he'd do fine. That said, being smart is an asset, but I'm not sure being a genius is that much of an advantage over just being smart. However, being really accomplished is an advantage.

No, I can’t predict how exactly he’s going to do with women when he’s 30 or something. But I can assume that if he doesn’t change A LOT then he will have a harder time meeting women than perhaps 80 or 90 per cent of the male population his age.

This guy will probably not end as a business tycoon, but as a scientist. Entrepreneurship and academic/scientific professions are two VERY different things and require VERY different skills. (I am a scientist myself, I know what I’m talking about.)

His main problem will be to find girls that can relate to him.

Just to give you an impression: In my PhD seminar (which was before I’ve heard of PU), 8 out of 10 guys were completely hopeless when it came to meeting women. There was a time in my life when I could talk confidently and with fluency about science in front of 150 listeners, but I could not hold a normal conversation with a random guy at a bar or so. It has taken me 300 sets and half a year of training just to develop the ability of holding a normal conversation with strangers. Nowadays verbal game is my biggest strength, but I had to put MUCH effort into that.

Anyway, I wish this guy the best.

The thing that annoyed me was that your reaction was just your way of reflecting your own limitations onto someone else.

You've said before that you agree with Sinn that some people are only going to be able to attraction 6-7. Appearently you've made that true for yourself.

What I wanted to make clear is that you can't judge a person on his current situation. In that case I would call myself a huge believer in human potential.

Indeed academics and entrepreneurship are two entirely different things, I would even go as far as to say that the two are even opposed. But as far as I know entrepreneurship isn't taught at school, so you may never know how he will turn out. Who knows he might have talent for it?

But just like you I wish the guy the best off course

No, it's not a projection. There is some truth in that "scientist=nerd" stereotype. As I've said, I work with such people all the time, and 8 out of 10 of these guys should put some serious work into their fashion sense, into their social skills etc.

Sinn said something else. He said that most guys who join the community end up with a HB 5. That's because many guys develop into KJs instead of working on their sticking points.

As for myself, most girls I have dates with are 7s, sometimes a 6, sometimes an 8 (I calibrate like this: 6=pretty, but her flaws are more obvious than those of a 7; 7=pretty, with less obvious flaws; 8 semi-pro model quality). I admit that I have not dated a 9 or 10 so far.

But please show me the guys in the community who CONSISTENTLY date 8s. These girls are rare. In our country (I guess you're German too?), they are indeed very rare.

I think most guys who do not turn into KJs, and even the very good ones (which I'm not), date 7s most of the time and only sometimes an 8 or 9 or so.

The concept of a "9 or 10 only"-game is a community myth.

Good point.

If that's the case, he would certainly benefit from that.

OK, Appearently I misunderstood a couple of things. Sorry if they came across as insulting.

To be honest that 7,8,9 thing.... I'm not a fan of it. I just go for the girls who give me that horny feeling. this could be your 6 or your 8, but if a girl turns me on at some level, that's enough for me.

Look at it from this perspective, let's say your girlfriend suddenly says to you " I can only date a guy who's a 7". I don't know about you, but I would be pretty pissed off about that statement Smile.

Just drop that scale. It's a very liberating thing to do, and you'll enjoy the company of your women a lot more.

Just think about: you see a hot girl, "mm she's hot" and you just go talk to her, instead of thinking this is a 6 a7 or an 8.

but congratulations on making your biggest weakness your strongest asset. It takes guts to do that!

Get rid of the 10 scale. It's pointless. There are 10's who think they are 5's and 5's who think they are 10's. Not to mention your 9 is my 6 and my 7 is your 5, etc., etc. It's a totally useless scale that only creates bad stereotypes in your mind and encourages you to put girls on a pedestal.
