Liking the book - shadow - 07-06-2011 07:55 AM

I'm browsing through the book. I really liked the ideas on vulnerability. Meshes a lot with personal experience. There are many nuggets in there. These days, I've de-emphasized reading to action. But, I'll probably come back to the book now and then for the hidden gold. Good job on the book!

And man, the girl in Austin slapping you was just downright crazy. It has happened to me a couple of times too. So I can totally relate.

As I was reading, one thing I was thinking about was how the friends need to like you. You can't polarize the friends. But you need to polarize the girl that you are interested in. The reason that I was thinking about this was that I've become much better with girls one-on-one, but I still have trouble handling the friends. Any perspectives?

Win them over enough so that they don't bother you. Always, always, always, introduce yourself and shake hands with everyone in the group. That will usually keep you off their shit list for most of the night by itself. That buys you enough time to connect with your girl. Once your girl likes you enough, she'll handle her friends for you and you don't have to deal with them again.

Do you remember & use the names?

Of course. Always remember everyone's names: guys, girls, friends, enemies, mothers, fathers, teachers, cousins, grandmas, whoever.

Been getting great feedback on the book. A lot of guys having some eye-opening experiences in the first 5-6 chapters, which is exactly what I hoped for. First day sales have exceeded my expectations by quite a bit, which is always nice as well. If I weren't sick, I'd be out partying my ass off right now. Haha...

I do want to say though, if you get a lot out of the book, spread the word. In this industry, hype and word of mouth absolutely matter. So if you're part of other forums or lairs or have wing-men, spread the good word.

Thanks everybody.

Todd: End of the month.
Boss: Two interviews I've done in the last 6 months. Both are about an hour long. Yes, they're immediately downloadable.

About 150 pages in, great so far. Lots of great pieces in there. lots of stuff resonates with my experience, but that I never thought of in that way.

Oh, and the Austin slap story reminds me of something that happened to me. I was at a bar in NY and I see two girls sitting at the bar. I order a drink next to them and turn and say something. One of the girls turns to me and says, in a thick Irish accent "fuck you, you asshole american men can go fuck yourselves. Why are you all such sleazebags." I am in shocked silence, but my roommate, who has some of the best game I have ever seen (and has traveled extensively), turns to her and says "oh, you were born in belfast right? but you spent a lot of time in dublin?" She looks at us confused and goes "uh, yeah, hi" They start talking and I start chatting with her friend. The friend pulls me aside and says "im so sorry about that, she just got dumped and has been drinking hard for like 4 hours. You tried to flirt with her at the wrong time. She's normally really sweet." Meanwhile she's drunkenly trying to stick her tongue in my roommate's ear. At that point the girl who pulled me aside sees this and grabs her friend to take her home.
