Where's everybody from? - Jon - 04-27-2011 08:10 AM Just realized I have no idea what part of the planet everybody on this forum is from. I'm in NYC, living in the east village. RE: Where's everybody from? - saito - 04-27-2011 08:51 AM Currently living in Ireland but actually from Germany RE: Where's everybody from? - Soul_Fire - 04-27-2011 05:35 PM Vancouver, BC, Canada. RE: Where's everybody from? - Lycan - 04-27-2011 06:56 PM Westgermany :O RE: Where's everybody from? - cobrastyle - 04-27-2011 11:08 PM southwest Germany RE: Where's everybody from? - Mark - 04-28-2011 12:30 AM It's not as true anymore, but for a long time a significant percentage of my readership was from Germany. I'd say it was as high as 35% at one point, and is now more around 20%. I still get far more readers from there than from UK or Canada though, which I think is unusual. I'm half-German, so maybe that has something to do with it. I don't think your genetics are responsible even though you really look german but rather that germans hate trash and gimcrackery. For example, there is no advertisment in germany that tells you how "powerful" a product is. If you compare that to american adds, you well see a lot of trash and exaggerated promises. Your approach is more down to earth, humble, honest and acedemic than the one of alternative gurus. And yes, I think saito is right: Your advice is more down to earth, more pragmatic, more realistic, that's why this is the only PU blog I still read. Probably the reason is that a famous German PUA from Cologne - Sharkk (you should know him personally, I think) - has pointed to some texts of you, particularly to the one on rejection. By the way, Mark looks a bit like Oliver Bierhoff (German soccer player, retired), I think: http://media.vogue.de/img/bm690x550/zs/oliver-bierhoff.1.jpg |
