Can you be more specific. Its pretty much like any other European culture.
The Romanian chicks I have dealt with have been a bit crazy though.

No, not really. All I know is I'm going on a date with a really cute Romanian chick that just moved here to be on her own, and I know nothing about their culture...at all. And my understanding of Eastern European Culture for that matter is...well...a bit lacking.

Ask her about it.
My experience with E. Europeans in general is that they expect you to do more of the work than American girls do. They expect you to take charge with everything and they'll often offer no help, hints or reciprocation when it comes to escalating or whatever... they just expect you to do all of it on your own.
At least that's been my experience with the Russians, and it's thrown me for a bit of a loop a couple times. Romanians could be (and probably are) totally different.

Hi Brett,
unfortunately I have no experience with Romanian girls so far. So all I can contribute here is rather "theoretical".
Probably you know that Romania is a "special case" in Eastern Europe. Their language and their culture makes them belong to the Latin part of Europe, not to the Slavic part. So it could be that they have more similiarities with Italians than with Russians or Poles.
In my university I've found a Romanian magazine and I tried to read it - just for fun (I had never read any Romanian text before, but if you know some other Latin languages you can figure it out word for word). I'm sure that if you have some command of Italian, Spanish, or French, the Romanian language is easy to learn.
Another interesting thing is that there a considerable groups of ethnic minorities in Romania. Especially Hungarians and Germans. These groups could have a mentality of their own.
Hope this helps a bit.

Nope, that's not true. I haven't dated any romanian girls but I knew some in college. Romania is an extreme case of eastern europe. They had the craziest communist dictator and the poorest country. The romanians I know had deeply cynical senses of humor. Their households were super conservative. Both of the girls I know eventually rebelled against that, one one of them did an obscene amount of drugs. That said, they are not ethnically slavic and one girl I know got very angry when anybody called her that.

Could you maybe elaborate a bit on your experience with the night life in Russia and Russian girls? How easy are they to pick up compared to, say, German girls? How many of the young people there can speak English?
(Obviously Im not going to Russia only for the sake of getting laid, thats more of a side-effect)

Short answer is this:
- Far far fewer women here speak decent English (maybe 10% versus probably 50+% in Germany).
- The ones who do speak English are significantly easier to lay than German girls. Women definitely like Western guys here... a lot. Once I've found an English speaker, I've had absolutely no trouble at all.
- Girls are significantly hotter in Russia than Germany. Also, Russian men are generally ugly.
So basically half the game is just finding the English speakers. Once you find them, if you're dressed-well and are aggressive, then they're pretty easy. If you're used to relying on verbal game or escalate slowly, you're in for a tough time. The women here give you no help or hints when it comes to escalating. Also, they don't seem to care for banter/teasing or sarcasm either. In fact, I think they see it as weak and not very masculine. It's a little strange to get used to. I'd say you need to be twice as aggressive out here than you're used to out West. You do that, then you're fine.
Fashion here is huge. Probably moreso than most other European countries, and far moreso than the US. Women dress very well here and they seem to think Westerners to dress like shit. Dressing very, very well is a major advantage, if not a necessity. When I go walk around in a T-shirt and jeans, I get no attention. When I go out in my expensive leather jacket, scarf, styled hair, designer jeans, expensive shoes, etc., I get stared at by girls all fucking day.
Sidenote: if you are a minority, you will NOT be treated the same here as a white person. Sad, but true. Steer clear.
Conclusion:
- If you have aggressive game, dress very well, and aren't bothered by a lot of awkward rejections, then Russia is very easy and very rewarding.
- If you are not very aggressive, rely on verbal game a lot, or don't dress very well, then it will probably be extremely difficult and frustrating.
I'm a big fan of Russian culture, their nightlife and their women. It's not for everybody though. It's basically a first-world country that operates like a third-world country, and that seems to drive some Westerners absolutely crazy. The language is insanely hard to pick up. The service is shit. The food is shit. The weather is shit. It's not an easy place to visit.
People who visit here tend to either love it or hate it and I can see why some hate it. But I definitely like it and plan on coming back for a longer stay.

Since I'm visiting a part of the former Soviet Union soon (however not Russia), Mark's information was very helpful, thanks.
So I will prepare by putting some special effort into my fashion style.
